That’s my point, genius. There is no such thing as a “religious fact.” They are all beliefs, and I think it is hubris to insist they are facts, so please stop lowering yourself to the same dogmatic level as those who do.
I don’t think the Dali Lama is fooling anyone. He is preaching his beliefs, and those who share his beliefs benefit from his leadership. Those who don’t share his beliefs aren’t being forced to.
In order to believe the Dali Lama is deceiving anyone, you have to treat your own beliefs like dogmatic facts, just like the Mormons. You are no better than the Mormons. Catholics also believe their church is the one true church, and you are no better than them either.
Please stop preaching your deist dogma, lest you roll in the same mud as the religious leaders you criticize.
Other than world travel and wonderful banquets, what good has the DL accomplished?
Just tries to sucker everyone into believing his myths.
He wants all religions to accept one another.
If you want me to stop “preaching”, then stop asking questions.
I’ll never fail to answer a question, even when I don’t know the answer.
Hey! -that makes me just like a priest, pastor or holy person!
That’s “unknown unkowns” come into play. Things that you don’t know, that you don’t know. There are things that any given person doesn’t know and by extention things about that unknown thing that the person doesn’t know.
Believing in anything that is unproven is a deeply personal decision, so there are many reasons for it. The most important one, though, is so you can grow intellectually beyond the few dogmatic mental midgets who will never believe in anything they can’t personally perceive with their own senses.
A motorcyclist acquaintance of mine was killed last year because of someone who did something similar to what you are describing. He didn’t see my motorcycle riding friend, and drove right into him on the wrong side of the road trying to take a turn too early.
You and your road behaviors are going to be the death of someone, and you need to stop, and start following the rules of the road.
So sorry about your friend.
I also ride a motorcycle and bicycle.
You ENSURE no one is coming.
If you can’t ENSURE that no one is approaching, because of any kind of obstruction or sun glare or curve or limited sight distance or rain, snow, dust or fog, you don’t risk it.
You engage signal early so that those behind in the single lane understand your intention and slow in anticipation of possibly needing to stop.
Just stop the behavior.
There is no need for you to do this, at all.
If you are worried about being rear ended, then stop driving on the roads, because it is always a possibility.
If you are worried about other people rear ending other cars behind you while waiting for you to turn left properly, then stop worrying, because they are too stupid to drive in the first place, and deserve the insurance hike they are going to get.
Your behavior KILLS PEOPLE.
Some of the people who die are PEOPLE I KNOW.
You live in the same area I do, and I really am getting tired of seeing your boasting of behaviors like this.
Your posts have gotten to the point that I have created a folder on my home computer with links to all your posts so that if you have an accident with or kill someone I know, or myself, I’m going to bring down as much trouble as I legally can for you.
I can probably get a couple law enforcement friends interested in you just by forwarding all the links of your posts where you declare all the different things that you do on a regular basis.
You also seem to have an affection for air horn sirens and railroad tracks, so I’m sure you wouldn’t be very hard for law enforcement to track down, and have a conversation with you about your driving habits.
I bet you wouldn’t require more than a weeks worth of surveillance in order to get your wrong side of the road left turn behavior caught on tape.
I recommend that you stop that behavior now.
Really, I do.
My actions do not kill.
I would not use an opposing lane if it could cause a collision or even frighten someone.
That is the idea.
If someonelse cannot do it correctly, they should not try it.
Just as if they cannot drive safely, they should not drive.
But using the opposing lane is easy to do well and safely.
Think that I have even done it on my motorcycle!
In vehicles, I am not overly concerned about being rear-ended because I give plenty of turn signal and I also watch, ready to accelerate forward if it appears someone is not slowing and stopping in time. (In 2007 or 2008 I avoided a rearend collision by watching and pulling forward.)
You term explaining “boasting”?
Perhaps you should communicate with all the other drivers out west and in Virginia who safely do this.
Yes, Operation Lifesaver trying to get people to not be hit by trains. In EMS I have responded to train/vehicle and train/trespasser mishaps. Can be grizzly.
Surveillence would likely be unfruitful since more and more traffic is approaching the intersections where I turn left, preventing using the opposing lane as deceleration lane.
Or there is no traffic behind so I need not get out of their way.
Very variable.
Over the years I have saved many semis from braking …you wont feel like such a hero after you hit someone head on and kill them.
Years ago, I also met the Dali Lama…considering what we have learned about you from your posts I feel you are not truthful about this and it is obvious you have been educated beyond your intelligence.
1.) Can’t hit or be hit head-on when no one is there.
2.) I ain’t got no edrucation.
3.) Yes. We keep the lights off to savenergy.
Guy, no blind spots eliminated.
We compensate for them through efficient, effective visual techniques.
If you are heading directly into the oncoming lane, vehicle blind spots are not obstructing vision straight ahead out of your windshield.
