Green driving

Cars Cause Cancer, you don’t have a car or drive right? Otherwise you are a big hypocrite

Calm down, after you die, we will have vehicles that don’t pollute. Is that accepteble to you?

Good intentions but not a smart thing to do. It’s pretty much a no brainer that it’s so dangerous anybody with a lick of common sense would not do this.

What do you do when, after pulling into the oncoming traffic lane, someone pulls up on your right and waits to turn left? Now you are taking a chance you will both go at the same time, but you are trapped in the wrong lane, facing the wrong way. If there is a collision of any type, it would be clear you are at fault. If you wave the other driver through, you have to sit there facing the wrong way, and if anything happens to that car after you wave it through, you are liable for giving the driver the “all safe” signal.

Robert Gift will die a peaceful death, not worrying about anything or anybody. Can’t say the same about the passengers in his car!

If oncoming traffic, don’t move into their lane.
Unfortunately, those behind will have to slow and stop until you can turn left and get out of their way.
That is also why I signal 10-seconds before beginning to slow, so that those behind can understand and react appropriately.
Still, flowing traffic may have to stop. That is when rear-end collisions sometimes occur.

No danger unless you make it so.

yeah I guess if half the passengers vote turn left and the other half says right, you gotta just keep going straight

I like the idea of Robert being a Click and Clack plant. It fits very well. In addition to drumming up more site activity it has had the effect of “who let the dogs out”.

You slow in your illegal “deceleration lane” and turn. There is no waiting.

Never wave anyone to do anything.
If they have a collision, you can be sued for partial responsibility.

Example: In conjested traffic, you, in lane #1 of two lanes, have stopped just before an intersection, keeping it open for opposing lefturns and crosstraffic.
An opposing driver wants to turn left.
You signal him to turn.
Opposing driver turns left in front of you and, without stopping to see if anyone is traveling in lane #2 to your right, continues into that lane and is hit. You csn be held partially responsible for waving him through.
Don’t wave anyone to do anything unless you can assure it is safe.

Robert. My only comment about your responses is that you always claim to have everything under control, and all contingencies planned for in spite of what is actually lawful. If I take all that you say is true, you’ve missed your calling. You would make one heck of a stock broker !

Good one!
All religions are man-made myth.
Wife and I are deists. We don’t fall for anyone’s fairytales, no matter which of the myriad flavors. Islam, Catholicism, Christianity, Mormonism, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc., etc…

We don’t count on luck or God.
We look and confirm. If you cannot ensure no oncoming traffic, motorcycles, bicyclists, pedestrians, you don’t move into the illegal deceleration lane.

It sure must suck to be you. You are your own con artist and you have convinced yourself to believe only in yourself. Self has flaws.

You know, Robert, it’s one thing to have your beliefs, but making fun of someone else’s beliefs is a new low for you.

To believe there is no god is fine. To mock those whose beliefs differ from yours marks you as someone totally unrefined.

Not new for me.
If you can’take such a response, don’t mock as Lord and Savior.

Being agnostic is absolutely wonderful! Free of absurd constraints, prejudices, ridiculous rituals, time wasted studying and arguing minutia in “holy books”, etc., etc.

A deist believes God exists.
Does not believe any of the myriad and totally unprovabull.

Catz, of course self has flaws.
Believing fairytales does not change that.

Before driving into the opposing lane to decelerate, one must ensure there is no trafficonflict.
If you can’t see well enough, you can’take the risk.
Many times I have been unable to see far enough or there were vehicles approaching.
So semis and cars behind me unfortunately had to come to a stop if they could not get around me on the right.

Robert Gift, your attempt to change the subject and divert this back to your poor driving habits proves that you cannot discuss your position in a mature and clear manner.

If you
can’take such a response, don’t mock as Lord and Savior…Are you referring to Whitey or myself? No matter, neither one of us was mocking Lord and Savior, please read and comprehend and do not speak in condescending manners. Since you cannot handle a good natured ribbing Car Guy was kidding you in a satirical manner so lighten up.

one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god
Wife and I are deists…which one are you? Again, it does not matter. It must pretty easy to go through life riding the fence. Please keep your posts confined to your poor driving habits and ideas.

I agree with Whitey, it is a hugh lack of character to insult others as you did.

“Good one!” means good-natured ribbing. Except I expound but assume th.is not the place.

Pointing out how ridiculous and absurd man-made myths are is insulting someone?
Wife and I ride no fences.
Even though labeled “Christian-like”, we are joyfully unencumbered by anyone’s fairytales.

Regarding my poor driving habits:
They are not habits. They are intentional.
Now learning from more people that “my invention” predates me and is not uncommon out west and in Virginia!

Guess all those who practice it should be told how terribly dangerous it is.
Though in my 40 years it has never caused a mishap.
But certainly has saved a lot of truckers and othersome fuel, pollution, brake wear and a little time and maybe a rear-end collision.

I don’t care if you think my religion is a myth. When you call my religion a myth in a public forum, it shows you are pompous yet uncouth, a rare combination.

I don’t knowhat religious myth you believe.
Nor, with so many flavors to chose from, can I know.
Which myth, does not matter. They are ALL man-made myths.
But my former Muslim girlfriend, (she left Islam when 21) and my wife and I love all the Christmyth lights.

Let’s focus on the things that work.

But you keep proposing insane and immoral things that DON’T work.

I ask that nobody flag this as inappropriate. This is a chance for everyone to see Robert Gift’s true colors.

Hopefully my “true colors” will be an inspiration to others.
But th.is not the place to discuss it unless others wish.
