GM announced that they are shutting down their robotaxi division, Cruise. They will focus on driver assist features. Not surprising to me given the long time it will take to produce a truly autonomous vehicle and GM doesn’t have deep enough pockets to continue. What do you think?

I think they are here already. There are autonomous taxis successfully running in a number of cities. See below
Likely each taxis is very expensive to produce, the liability is massive and many municipalities clearly nervous about allowing them.
