The noise could be from an idler pulley for the fan belt, or whatever belts are on this car. I had an idler pulley that would make noise in the winter and not so much in the summer for a couple of years. I didn’t realize how much noise until it got really bad with the first touch of cold weather last Fall, I found the source, and replaced it. Couldn’t believe how much quieter the engine was. It kind of snuck up on me, getting gradually worse.
