When my husband last filled our 2002 Chevy Venture, the automatic shut-off did not work and gas spilled out. After that, we have noticed a heavy gas smell after the car has been running. We do not notice any leaks. Maybe the fuel vapor canister is saturated. If so, what do we do about it?
I cannot speak for newer cars for certain. My 1989 Dodge Caravan some years ago had a bad gas smell, and my Master Mechanic said it was from going click! click! to top it off. On that model, he said just to drive it and it would clean itself. It did.
If newer cars are different, then I have no idea.
