Thats why ive decided i want a late 60s or early 70s 4x4 truck…Something with no computers ect. Then i can easily fix anything that goes wrong with it myself…

Just leave it unplugged and add a points distributor or and earlier electronicly switched distributor, the “new” old engine will not need a “brain”. How are you planning on dealing with fuel supply as I don’t believe the mechanical pump can draw fuel up through the same tank pickup without some modification, perhaps draw the fuel through and existing return line? It would be easier for most to learn the vehicle rather than change the vehicles construction.
