The turn signal and brake light fuses keep blowing out on my '98 Oldsmobile Bravada. I have had a clicking under the dash for a long time. Are these things connected and if so how do I solve the problem? A garage couldn’t find the problem as the fuses didn’t blow out when they had the car.
Both the brake light and turn signal circuits pass thru the multi-function switch. This is the stalk on the left side of the steering column where the headlights, turn signals, high/low beam, etc…are controlled.
Because these switches on GM vehicles have a history of failure, and from what you describe, espeacially with clicking noise from under the dash, I’d have the multi-function switch checked out.

I agree with Tester. GM has had a problem with these multi-function switches for some time. I would get it checked out and I’m betting it needs replaced.
