I have a 2003 Audi A4 Quatro. I love the car and keep up on getting the normal oil changes. I have a local mechanic who works on my car who is certified to work on Audis and most other German cars. My fuel gage as well as my in dash computer gage tell me I’m running out of gas. I try to put fuel in the car but it only alows me to put about 10 gallons of gas in at one time before the pump shuts off. I brought this issue up to my mechanic and he is at a lost. After I fill up the car, the gage never reads past 3/4 tank. I need my gas gage to be accurate. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this or solutions.
It’s usually the sender in the fuel tank.
Are you in the habit of topping off the tank? If so you may only be getting a partial fill because you have damaged the vapor recovery system in your car. You should always stop filling when it first clicks off.
