Frequency of fluid flushes

How often should the 4 fluids in a passenger car be changed? Also is there a problem with the red anti-freeze in GM cars?

Do what it says in the owner manual.

Yeah dexcool sucks.

Read the owner’s manual. Don’t do anything less. Always use fluid recommended by the manufacturer.

Those are minimums. I would recommend automatic transmission fluid changes about every 30,000 - 40,000 miles. (notice I said change not flush)

The only fluid to flush is the brake fluid, every 2 years with ABS, with every pad change for the others.

There is no problem with dexcool as long as you don’t mix it with the old green stuff. The new universal coolants are better though.

See your owners manual for specific intervals.
