I have a 1996 Ford F150 that I want to try to perform a tuneup on myself. What parts do I need to complete this job successfully? Is it something that I can do on my own? Nothing major, just a basic tuneup to keep it running a little longer. Thanks in advance.
I suggest you stop at your local auto parts store and pick up a manual for your truck. It will have a lot of information including not only what to do, but how to do it. If you have the original owner’s manual it will list those maintenance items that should be done on a regular basis.
A guy “tinkering” with a engine that is running fine is apt to make more problems than he solves, espicaly if he is a novice. That plug wire set that is fine now, well just start yanking on them and you can start pricing a wire set.
Do your maintiance on schedule not based upon a desire to “keep it running a little longer”
I would have really like to see you post “Items xyz are due for replacement do you have any tips”?
