Ford F150 stalls on highway in very hot weather

I live in the mountains of colorado and was driving down to the plains on a very hot summer day. The 1996 truck was running great and then stalled going up a hill like it was out of gas. Any ideas?

Check out the ignition system, especially the coil.

The truck will run great running around town stopping for errands. When I am on an extended road trip over 3 hours in very hot temps in will shut down like it is running out of gas, do you still think it is the ignition system or maybe the fuel pump? Thanks
