I never seen that one. do you know what year it is from?
I never have either but it looks to be from the early 1900s.
I never even heard of Fisk. was it a good tire? it seems to have been around a long time.
Fisk might have been a regional tire brand, but I definitely remember it from my childhood.
Here is another one–which was probably a regional brand, rather than a national brand.
A shop in my town used to display one of these signs when I was a kid.
… and those of “a certain age” should recall Armstrong Tires, which–supposedly–“gripped the road” better than all other tires. In their TV ads, the announcer would declare that “Armstrong tires GRRRRRR-I-P the road”.
do you get a free razor with every tire? LOL
When my brother and I drove past that Gillette Tire sign, it was inevitable that one of us would say…
Those are really sharp tires!
All you might want to know about Fisk:
Fisk Rubber Company - Wikipedia
I remember the Fisk ad and immediately thought of the Armstrong ad too. Can’t remember the Gillette one. I don’t remember going to Gillette Castle either. I think his first name was really King. I don’t know if he was involved in the tire business.
Another one that comes to mind is Remington Tires, which claimed to be “The choice of discriminating buyers”.
I don’t recall if you got a typewriter or an electric shaver as a bonus with your tire purchase.
the ability to stop cuts down on accidents. go figure. so glad they told us. LOL
The cop in their ad was Captain Obvious.
Didn’t good year or Firestone I am thinking have a tire called Tiger Paw?
Firestone had Tiger Paws.
If you filled your tank with Esso’s Tiger Power gasoline and also installed Tiger Paws, you could smell the cat urine from two blocks away.
Uniroyal tiger paw. they still sell them
Whoops!
Yes, they were a Uniroyal model name.
Yep I had the tiger tail sticking out of my tank.
