Fiat/Chrysler Wants GM

@Triedaq

Short term gain, long term pain

But I suppose that applies to many politicians

The word cronyism comes to mind

The term old boys network also comes to mind, although I’m not sure it’s strictly accurate, in this example

:frowning:

Now don’t get me wrong, I go left and right, but the Minnesota republican governor Pul-lenty did the same thing to the budget and left us in a huge deficit. I wish they could somehow meet in the middle. Our current democratic governor got us out of hock but just can’t help but swing way left on some issues. Just can’t win. We all want good effective government, with a decent surplus, taking care of the public’s business, and we are willing to pay for it. Just don’t give us smoke an mirrors and undercut individual responsibility and achievement.

@Bing Indiana has a big surplus and that is the good news. The bad news is that the legislature put a cap on property taxes without any state remedy, so school districts don’t have the funds to bus the kids,to school. In my area, we have had closing of big auto parts factories. On the other hand, Chrysler has a transmission facility that is doing well in Indiana. The Sienna I drive was built in Princeton,IN. I read where the Sienna has the highest percentage(93%) of U.S. made parts of any vehicle sold in the U.S.
I am at the point where II don’t care about the ownership of a company if the company can provide jobs for my neighbors.

Well Trie,the chickens do indeed"come home to roost" judge a corp by its benefits and merits,not by biased perceptions,sometimes the new is better for all involved,in other words,I concur.
