Does anyone know how to get my 2008 Fiat 500 1.2 Lounge, European Union manufactured car through US Customs and registered in California? Help!

We had many posts on this before, and most of us have STRONGLY DISCOURAGED importing such a car into the US. Some reasons:

  1. Fiat does not sell cars in the US; no one will have parts, amnuals, or abilty to fix it.

  2. The US dept of transporation will have a very long list of safety and environmental changes required. Those will cost several times what your car is worth.

  3. There are companies that facilitate importing cars that are very close to US standards, and whose manufacturer sells cars in the US. Your situation does not fit that description, so few companies will even want to do this work for you.

If you are buying several of these as props in an upcoming movie, such as slow version of “The Italian Job”, I understand why you would want to import such a mediocre and cheap vehicle into the US.
