Hopefully, yes, once this new FTC regulation goes into effect:
I read that in the newspaper recently. I’m in favor of it. When my daughter bought her first car in 2020 she agreed on a price out the door with the dealer. He came back with a contract that had added fees that then made twice higher than the agreed price. She reviewed the contract, called it to his attention, and demanded that he rewrite the contract. He’d did and she got the agreed price. I was with her and I am proud of the way she handled it. I didn’t have to do anything but sit there.
My dad was getting the Costco pricing on a new CRV in 2019 including his trade in at fair value but when he went into the finance office they had all these services and add on’s that totaled at least 2x the costco discount, got it all removed but it wasn’t nearly as easy as he was expecting it to be. He did suggest to Costco they find another dealer partner though.
