My F150 makes an occasional whinning noise in cold weather. It gets louder or quits by increasing or decreasing RPM. Doesn’t matter if radiio or climate control is on or off. In warm weather it doesn’t make the noise.

If it whines in park a piece of heater hose used like a stethoscope can help pinpoint the source of the noise.

I haven’t noticed it in park only driving and it stops when you speed up or slow down.
