When a defect is uncovered with your brakes, air bags, or anything else – based on your argument, people should just fix it, pay for it, and move on. Wow. Hopefully nobody dies or is seriously injured…
The whole point is for car manufacturers to be aware of the defect and how to try and ensure it doesn’t happen to anyone else. After all, safety should be a top priority.
