Exhaust mufflers

I consider myself neither young nor old, but I also remember the Sears Muzzler.

Both side of that sentence just say that you’re old - no matter what you consider yourself.

Based on your previous posts (if I recall correctly), you’re exactly right. This is getting in the weeds but an econ professor at Stanford (Shoven), suggests that “middle aged” (for males) is when your chance of dying is 1% or less in the next year, “old” is when you have a >2% chance, and “very old” or “elderly” is when you have a >4% chance. Based on Social Security Life tables and those definitions, Shoven suggests:

Middle aged was 44 in the 1920s and 60 in 2020.
Old was 55 in the 1920s and 70 in 2020.
Very old or elderly was 65 in 1920 and 76 in 2020.

Gee thanks buddy. :grinning:

Fortunately for me I know when I’m going to die, so I can plan accordingly!

Many years ago my grandfather lived to be 90 years old and died on June 3. Several years ago my father was 90 years old and died on June 3. So I fully expect my last day here to be June 3, 2060.

My favorite line- you may not be over the hill but the top is in sight!

Man, seeing that Muzzler pic was like traveling through one of those worm holes back in time
