2003 pt cruiser MANUAL trans wont go above 2000 rpm no matter if sitting or driving replaced crank position sensor had previously replaced map sensor also air control valve
Welcome to the forum…
Sounds like your vehicle may be in limp mode…
Limp mode is a feature of modern cars which severely reduces performance in order to do two things:
- Allow you to drive the car to a safe location.
- Protect further damage to the motor.
What you failed to mention was, is the CEL (check engine light) on??
What are the codes???
check engine light is always been on code sais cam shaft replaced that still doing it no codes now
Vague run on sentences.
Cel is on. Has been on a long time.
Code did say camshaft sensor.
Replaced cam sensor.
Cam code is gone.
Cel light is still on?
But no codes. Just cel light.
The catalytic converter may be restricted.

The issue with “always having the CEL on” is you only have one CEL light and it doesn’t change how bright it is no matter how many codes it has, so when something NEW happens you will not know or be notified if anything else has happened unless the vehicle starts showing symptoms (flashing light aside)…
We will be glad to try to help you, but you have to help us 1st by giving us more detailed information, of what codes (P0XXX) are showing or showed, have the readiness monitors reset since you cleared the codes?? If not then the CEL may/will not come back on until they have…
I know my Crystal Ball has not been working very well lately… lol
BTW, Did you check the vacuum signal to the MAP sensor?? and the connection (plug)??
First step, your shop will have to determine what is causing the CEL to be on. Second step, repair that problem(s) and verify the CEL is no longer on. This may also completely solve the 2000 rpm limit. If not, post back for more ideas.
