Not sure why my light is on… i do the regular oil changes…the only thing is that when i accelerate it kinda stutters i have a 2001 ford explorer V8… i checked the air filter and that is in good shape but not sure how to do much else…any ideas would be great …Thanks!!!
Have the computer codes read by a mechanic or a parts store (many of which will do it free). The codes will lead you to the source of the problem. The light is an early warning device. Fix whatever is wrong now before the problem gets worse, and more expensive.
The light is telling you that the computer has stored a “trouble code” to help a mechanic diagnose and fix a problem the car’s sensors have detected. Follow McP’s advice post-haste before a small problem becomes a big one.
