I don’t find that to be amusing at all . Why are they not spending more time making the Tesla a vehicle I might buy without being concerned about it catching on fire in my garage.

Much less likely with the new batteries. The less expensive Model 3 batteries are Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and there has never been a fire with them. The Model Y is switching from the older 2170 battery to the newer 4680. The newer barrier is less expensive and has a higher charge density. They also use an updated Lithium-ion chemistry that is more thermally stable than previous generations.
