The movie was released in 77 with many more movies in the franchise. If that doesn’t help, one of the actors drove the black Chevy in American Graffiti. Last hint, the driver’s last name is the top rival of Chevrolet .

These machines immediately fit in certain niches: indoor operation (no exhaust) and quiet zones (hospitals, schools, and overnight emergency use in residential areas), and much less vibration for operators.
The challenges will be charging and cost, both both seem to being solved fairly quickly.
Will be the future, no doubt. Open-pit mining with 100 ton trucks and no need to be quiet and all outdoor, will probably be the last to switch over to electric, esp. with advances in battery technology.
Fossil fuel…on its way out…
I think there will be fossil fuels used for at least another one hundred years. It won’t be as much as now, but there are applications that require them.
Oh yes, just as there are things that horses can do that ATVs and motorcycles cannot do!

Can’t you get an optional ‘road apple’ dispenser for an ATV or bike?
