Is it really necessary to flush the Transmission, change fluid in transfer case and change my coolant at 58,000 miles on my 2014 CX-5 Mazda. The dealer want s to do those services
Thanks!
I would do it. All will help prolong the life of your car.
And please edit out your email address, not a good thing to post on a public web forum.
The Mazda manual states coolant to be changed at 120,000 miles for FL22 coolant (stamped on the radiator cap), and every 5 years there after. And 60,000 miles or 5 years for other types of coolant. After that replace every 2 years. That seams too often in my opinion. The coolant has to be completely drained and refilled.
Your dealer does not like that 120,000 miles of course.
Transmission fluid depends on the type of driving, but it’s not even mentioned in Japanese built Mazdas, We recommend drain and fill (NOT a flush) every 30,000 to 50,000 miles to ensure smooth functioning.
Your dealer has an expensive flushing machine and wants to make some money with it. It has little to do with you actual needs.
This is the maintenance schedule for your Mazda.
Docnick doesn’t speak for me.
