Not exactly a “universal” heater hose . . .
I’m going to bet the car used a molded hose with a bend in it and the GM dealer used a piece of universal straight hose that sort of would work. When the VW mechanic saw it, he said “Might as well have used a garden hose1” or words to that affect.
I’m betting he used one of those universal hoses with the “accordion”
