Cylinder Deactivation option

I have a pretty simple questions. Do all of the V-8’s that GM makes have Cylinder Deactivation? Is it possible to purchase a plain old V-8 from GM anymore?

I think the iron block 6.6 liter V8 only has variable valve timing but not cylinder deact. The supercharged V8s in the Camaro, Caddy and older Corvette don’t have cylinder deact.

Why do you need one . Many 4 and 6 cylinder engines make as much or more power as some of those yesteryear V8’s.

We can deactivate the cylinder by deactivating ignition coil or injector. But if we haven’t separate control we can’t do it
