Crazy Gas Gage

During warm weather, and I fill with gas. The gas gage drops to none even though I filled completely. It used to come up after about 5 miles, but lately it won’t start indicating fuel until about 25 miles or more. Also, the service engine light appears if I stop & start prior to the gas gage returning to normal. This does not occur in the winter or cold weather at all. This only happens in warm/hot weather. Help please

You probably have a bad fuel level sensor. They can be purchased separately from the fuel pump assembly. If you replace it have the fuel pump pressure checked to see if it falls in the proper pressure range. If it’s weak…just get the whole fuel pump modular assembly with the fuel level sensor already in place.
