Cold idle

My wife has an 01 ford escape. It doesn’t want to idle in the mornings. As it warms up the idle improves until it reaches temp. after that its okay. it was worked on once and was okay for awhile. I think a coil and 4 sparkplugs were changed. Any ideas?

Test the coolant temperature sender. It may be faulty.

It could also be a dirty IAC that cannot open far enough when cold. Maybe a thorough throttle body cleaning is in order.
