Code 41 on OBD I System -- Serious or not?

My 1988 Olds 98 is giving me code 41 on the computer scan.

The car runs and drives fine, has always been meticulously maintained, and has only 43K original miles. I drive the car only on weekends – and occasional weekends at that. What repair is needed? Can an independent mechanic do this? Thanks

Here are 2 possibilities:

Code 41: cam sensor circuit fault, igntion control circuit fault

Can an independent mechanic work on this, or would I need the dealer? The car runs and drives fine, but the light bothers me.
I want to make sure I take care of this car. Thanks

Any good shop can look into and work on the trouble. Since the car is running well I would think the cam sensor is ok.
