I recently purchased a 2003 Ford Focus with 80k miles. I had it evaluated prior to purchasing and was told it needs the coolant to be flushed and there is a slight oil leak somewhere in the engine. No mention of any other issues.
This past week, I have noticed a clunking sound in the back right that occurs when I drive slow (15mph or less) or go over speed bumps. I don’t believe the sound is happening when I am driving at a regular speed. The sound can be heard from outside the car (when I pulled up to a gas station, a customer told me they heard a funny clicking sound.)
What could this be? And how urgent of an issue is this?
Thanks!
The noise might be coming from a broken stabilzer bar end link. An inspection of the rear suspension should confirm this.
