The cigarette lighter is not working. I’m using this to charge my cell phone. Besides checking the fuses, what else can be checked?
Is the center contact (the hot one) corroded? You say the socket works for cell phone charging but the lighter element does not get hot? clean it off or replace the element part (the part that pops out when hot) Most cell phone chargers fit pretty tight in the socket(making good ground contact)maybe your element fits to loose (preventing ground contact).If you do replace the entire socket pay attention some of these test your patience to re-assemble/install.
With a voltmeter check to see if you have 12 V from ground to the hot pin. Check continuity between a good ground and the grounded part of the socket.
