I let my 94 Chev K1500 sit for a month and the trans would not work. Changed the fluid and filter now when it shifts into 3rd gear it acts like it goes into neutral. Any suggestions?

This is not uncommon in the 4L60E transmission. The 3-4 clutch in this trans is very weak and prone to failure. As always, make sure the fluid level is good. I would let a trans shop scan it just to verify that the computer is commanding 3rd gear but I think it is a victim of the dreaded 3-4 clutch failure. A good overhaul with an upgraded 3-4 stackup will do it good.
