Car completely dead. When jumped and got running, no radio, no display, no camera, no sounds or tones. Had 7 different codes when hooked to computer. Cleared codes. Radio & display and sounds came back. Battery was charging & so was alternator. Next morning car was dead again.
there are 2 recalls for the radio. software update for lack of chimes sound. I don’t think it will help with your starting problem. that is probably a separate issue. I do remember reading somewhere about the someone having a problem with the seal on the ECU and moister getting in and having to have it replaced.
If the battery is failing/no good, recharging is not going to help. Replace the battery.
Here’s the diy’er battery alternator system test I do to see if those parts are working ok. Easy enough to do if you know how to work a DVM.
Before first start of the day the battery should measure about 12.6 volts. Measure right at the battery posts. Then immediately after starting the engine, 13.5 to 15.5 volts.
