having problems with the charging system there no voltage from the alternator do have 3 volts going in on both wires have change alternator with a good one

I must agree, the format of your question (they way you present both what you measure and how you pose your question) only allows speculation. My suggestion, get a “system theory” or a “diagnostic procedures” type textbook, read them a bit and try posting again. This is my suggestion on how you can get help, others may simply keep asking you enough questions of which the answers too would allow them to help you.
