Challenging driveway

Oldie but a goodie- almost believe these would have been designed and installed by the guy with the body shop down the street

Trying to build above the flood plain, maybe?

They need a mini-Lombard:

Maybe the garage should have been built into the basement.

There are a few developments around me in Florida whose driveways almost look that bad…

The development is in a low area and the house is built up to meet code requirements. Usually there are steps that rise 3 to 5 feet from the garage floor to enter the house. The roads IN those developments have NO fill (expensive $$$) so the driveways are very steep.

Quite the dilemma. Your car needs a lot of ground clearance to ascend the driveway but then is likely to be too tall to fit into the garage.

Till I see address I don’t believe it.

Nah. Just needs the wheels at the corners, like this. Be sure to take the antennas down before entering the garage.

Vehicles with sufficient approach and departure angles are available.

And don’t forget breakover angle, going into the garage.

Breakover angle shown is 25.3°.

How would concrete be poured at such a steep slope?

This looks like the same driveway from a different angle:

Obviously this home doesn’t get snow or even frost.

Story says they moved sidewalk closer to road and changed angle of driveway. Who paid for that? So, the angle is less steep now.

That happened within a year of the construction start, so i bet it was the developer.

They should of did something like this with the garage entrance on the side.

There’s one like that nearby where the house was built with the garage facing the main street but the driveway off the side street so it’s a tight 90deg turn for whoever lives there, Across the street are a couple new builds with driveways not as steep as the original picture but steeper than the rest of the block.

The developer must have regraded the driveway to sell the house. I can’t imagine anyone buying a home with a driveway that steep.
