About 15 years or so ago here in OK an inmate escaped from a prison facility and stole a car. He was spotted and the cops chased him out into the boondocks.
The guy went flying over a ledge into a 60 foot deep ravine. The car landed directly on the nose, rolled over on the roof, and the inmate bailed out and took off running.
The cops caught him and he was barely scratched even with no seat belt in use.
The airbag was the only thing between the convict and the windshield/ground. Go figure.
