Catalytic Converter Bolts

I was at the dealership today having a recall completed on my 2014 Honda Pilot, and the technician said that the Catalytic Converter Bolts were rotting out and very loose, and need to be replaced, or the catalytic converter could fall and cause major damage. He quoted $650 to replace the bolts and all hardware and gaskets. This seems really excessive to replace some hardware. I’ve tried searching online, but all I can find is replacement of the whole Catalytic Converter.

Take it to any exhaust shop. Just replacing bolts should be quick and cheap. Not $650.

If you have another shop you use, take I think to them and ask for a second opinion. While the check is made, ask to see the bolts for yourself.
