I find that the batteries last a lot longer if the fobs are stored in a Faraday box when you’re at home.
I have one of mine in sleep mode (can’t be copied?) to save on the battery, no communication with the vehicle, you can also put them in sleep mode anytime if out in public so the signal can’t be copied… Just push and hold the lock button then hit the unlock button twice and release, fob will blink twice (edit: maybe 4 times) and it’s nighty night time, hit any button to wake up…
I figured other manufactures had something like this also…
EDIT: for smart key fobs only IIRC…
EDIT II: push button start smart fobs (Electronic Key) only, if I read it right…
No sleep mode for our 2019 Odyssey EX-L or any trim level that year.
I haven’t a clue as to what manufactures are doing (yet), but I know Toyota/Lexus is doing this… I thought I saw where Mercedes, BMW and Audi are doing this now automatically after x time and Mazda will do it if you hit the lock button 4 (or more) times, and maybe even Subaru and Ford…
