Car swaying after tie rod change and replacement tire

Maybe instead of chasing the problem fore n aft and fore again, it’s time to get a second opinion, from a reputable brick & mortar mechanic. Not impugning your own wrenching ability.

Explain to them what the car is doing, leave out whatever you have done already let them road check it and lift it and make their own determinations.

The lug nuts are rusted?

Aside from that, yes the left and right tires on an axle should be a matched pair. I had a used car, when I replaced the missmatched tires, though the same size, the different brands had different outside diameters.
I have had some tires that would try to follow the grooves in concrete roads.

Couple of tricks to free a seized wheel to hub.

With the tire on the ground, put a couple lug nuts back on loosely. Now push on the side of the vehicle so the vehicle rocks side to side.

Or, put all the lug nuts back on loosely. Start the vehicle and while driving slowly slam on the brakes

Tester.

Just to add to Testers post above, I have had to drive around in a circles to get the wheel to break loose from the hub… But most of the time the brake thing works…

Alright, gave them a firm talking to with my back leg kicks and both came off. Yeah after rotating the issue still remains. Hopefully I’ll get a answer by Friday when I swing by the mechanic

Lower control arm bushings are shot. Figured as they looked awful.

Brought it to the stealership and they quoted me 1k to replace both. Looks like I’m busting out the tools again. Luckily they gave me a great multi point inspection and pointed out some other minor issues.

Thanks again guys, I apologize again for getting angry. I will update you when I get them replaced!

Please stop referring to the dealership as “stealership”

Many of us professional mechanics worked at dealerships at one point and there are certainly good and competent people there. Maybe not all, but they’re not a den of thieves, either

A dealership has much higher overhead and there are many other reasons why everything there is priced higher

As for the shot lower control arm bushings, it’s usually best to replace the entire arms, imo

Yeah I’m gonna change the entire arm since I heard it’s easier then removing the bushings themselves and hey new ball joints!

Since the alignment shop did not notice the bushings were shot, I think I would avoid that shop in the future.
1+ to dealership comments. I was referred to local dealership when independent shop did not have all the diagnostic equipment needed for a problem. I continued to use that Indy shop until owner retired. Now use dealership exclusively.
