Car stutters a bit

My question is related to a 2000 Acura Integra LS.
When you put the car in drive and press the gas a bit it stutters
Once you get going it drives fine until the next time I stop and start from a stand still like at a red light
Any Ideas where I should start the trouble shooting would be great
Thanks

Check engine light on? Codes?

If not, start with routine maintenance: spark plugs, plug wires, clean the throttle body etc.

Don’t forget about the often-overlooked fuel filter.

"Don’t forget about the often-overlooked fuel filter."
And The Often Overlooked Periodic Valve Lash Adjustment If This Is One Of Those (Hondas ?) That Seem To Require It. Uneven Compression Can Cause A “Stutter”.

I’d cut right to a compression check. If that’s the culprit it could save you lots of time. It wouldn’t hurt to put on a fuel filter if it’s past due and also any other maintenance that has gone wanting.

You might want to have someone check the operation of the Throttle Position Sensor.

When at a stop the Idle Air Control valve allows the engine to idle. When stepping on the accelerator the TPS sends a signal to the computer as to how much gas to add to the engine. If there’s a problem with the TPS at the transition between idling and accelerating it can cause the engine to stutter or stumble.
