I have a '99 Chrysler LHS which has starting and stalling problems. It may start fine, drive it to the store, come out and it won’t start. It stalls at lights as well. Any suggestions on what is causing this? It has 50,000 miles, a new starter, new battery and other repairs, but no luck.
If it’s got an EGR valve (not all do) unhook that hose to the diaphragm (leave it on the diaphragm and unhook it at the other end)and apply vacuum (just like a straw). Does the idle go to heck? If yes, the EGR is fine. If not, get it serviced. This is behavior not unlike a stuck (open) EGR. Fine cold …won’t run when warm.
