Dayumm, ugly piece of crap.
I like stuff like this, very cool for a man cave or garage…
I’m going out on a limb here and calling it an old school SBC stroker motor (383ci?), rods look worked but still have some pad on the big ends, piston rings close to the edge… also noticed there is only 2 bearing shells for the 3 rods (looks cool) with an old school SBC valve cover…
Rainflurry can probably properly identify it better than me, or some other SBC guys…
I kinda like it. After all of my years, I still never learned to weld (tho’ I have 2 welders in the garage). What will get me to do it is when I can retire, just play with metal and other crafts, and make ugly-cool stuff like that.
Looks like the bearing shells are holding the 3 rods together. Half in one rod and half in the other.
Looks like a standard 5.7 inch Chevy rod and piston. It is sitting on a double row timing chain cam gear. And a Chevy stamped valve cover.
Would make a nice shop benchtop lamp.
C’mon Dave, if it’s not Mopar, it’s junk.
Needs a little upgrade. I would use a polished aluminum Offenhauser valve cover and install an HID lamp/ballast.
I was doing an engine swap years ago on a sbc in a C10 (probably) and a couple of Chevy guys said, what is taken so long we could of already had it out by now, I looked up and smiled saying I drive Mopar’s and we don’t have to pull our engines for repair/replacement all the time, so I am not as fast as you at it…
They left me alone after that… lol
Not something I’d put in the house (meaning - wife won’t let me put it in the house)…but she’d let me in my workshop if I asked really nice.
As a kid I got a ww 1 trench art lamp from the brother of a family friend. All long dead but I’ve kept the lamp on my desks for over 60 years.
Years ago I had an employee who was a die hard Chevy guy. He had 2 daily drivers, a 73 Camaro summer car and an 85 K10 pickup winter rig. But only one 350.
So every October the engine came out of the Camaro and into the pickup. And every April vice versa. He was pretty quick at it.
Growing up I was a die-hard GM fan. Then I bought my Vega. That soured me. Hadn’t learned my lesson yet so 10 years later I bought a GMC S-15. That soured me. Now I own a 2017 Corvette.
2017 vette? $40k? If it was a z06 or zr1 it might appreciate. Otherwise, maybe slowly go down?
455 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque For every 2017 Corvette but the Z06 and you’re complaining. Does anything you own have more than half that power?
