Car fell off lift

If/when you talk to your insurance agent/broker/company ask if YOUR rates will go up, and/or if “Accident Forgiveness” (if you have it and are paying for it) will restart the “forgiveness” clock. Last, ask your agent this question: “Is there anything else about this I need or should know relative to this impacting me?”

I suspect you used it because it has “current connotations” . . .

I won’t be the one flagging you today :smile_cat:

The agent might not have that answer until the claim is settled . So what if they do , the increase will be a lot less then the amount of money it will take to replace the vehicle . The rates will reduce after a period and things like this are why you have insurance.

Well you’d be wrong but I’ll just wipe out the whole &^*^%$#$ thing if it bothers you.

Don’t delete it on my account

I told you I wouldn’t flag it

I just think that term is one that has been mis-used so often, particularly of late

At the moment, it’s one of those terms, that if you use it, you’ll be sure to get a few reactions and comments, as you did

I’m sorry I misjudged you this time

'jus some thoughts with the intent of keeping the OP ‘whole’. nbd

Done. Really don’t care if you flag or not. I’ve got a field to check to see if anything is missing.

Sorry I do not have enough experience with accidents and raising rates, wife and I got rear ended, no rate change, I backed into a car 15 years ago, and no rate change, it snuck up and parked on the opposite side of the street and I missed seeing it’s arrival while backing out of the drive during a snow event. How many of you have had rate increases due to an accident?

I’ve only had rate increases when they were my fault

About 20 years ago, I was at fault, and my rates went up for a time. I was with Progressive at the time, if it matters

I’ve had everything insured with the auto club since 2003, I believe, and I haven’t had any at-fault accidents since that one from 20 years ago

I have been rear-ended and side-swiped a few times since then, and my rates never went up as a result

I would consider trying to work out a deal with them in writing that they fix all these problems and give you some $$$ to boot. Taking them to court is gonna take time and money if they will fix and give u a few hundred with it it would be a better deal for them.

what is wrong with saying deep state? the deep state needs to be terminated

How about just not using the term . . . ?!

Using it can ONLY have negative consequences, in my opinion

Lots of conflicting and confusing recommendations here. Call your insurance company and get their recommendation. They likely will pay for the damage and recover the cost from the shop.

That is what the OP said they were going to do 4 days ago .
I would like them to return and say what the final out come was to this problem.

There are probably 25-50 trigger words (I haven’t counted and really paid much attention to it) that get people bent into a pretzel. They include terms for trains, certain vehicles, organizational dynamics, ancestry, certain charities, weather, and on and on. You don’t know until you use one and it’s like poking a hornet’s nest. 20 years ago we could discuss such things like adults. Now everyone is easily offended. Maybe they could just list the terms they are offended by so they could be wiped from our vocabulary. God save the Queen.

I got punished at work for referring to a woman as “a tough old broad”, and I meant it as a compliment!

Heh heh heh. The “rules” didn’t apply the other way around though. They could call us anything they wanted and the audience applauded.

Yes, let’s bring it back to cars . . .

Yes she was a mechanic and truck driver during World War 2, when England was being bombed. A true XXXXX (strike that).

The only thing I respect about the English royals is that many of them seem to have spent some time doing military service

Everything else . . .

Personally, I think society in general has a decidedly unhealthy fixation on royalty
