The traction control light on my 1999 Mazda Millenia S model with a supercharger has been coming on intermittently accompanied by the car “bucking” when I try to accelerate. My mechanic is stymied. Any ideas?
It sounds like the traction control is kicking in. It might be getting a bad signal from one or more wheel sensor. Have you checked to see if the computer has any stored error codes?
I think most cars with traction control have some way to turn it off, usually a “traction” button or something, but sometimes is just automatically comes off when you shift into 2 or 1. Anyways, turning off the traction control would tell you for sure if that’s what the problem is. Consult your owner’s manual!
