I have a 2005 toyota corolla. The dealer wants to charge $225 to to the rear brake pads and resurface. This seems too much. Would I be ok to go to an independent or chain like midas?
Stay away from chains. NEVER go to a chain shop. An independent mechanic is fine, but a chain shop is not the same thing. They’re not independent, they’re part of a chain, and they make their money on quick turn-around and by selling you things you don’t need. Find a REAL mechanic or stay with the dealer.
