The cars have gone off at all times of the day from morning, afternoon, night to midnight. Sometimes they stop for 2-3 days then start back up again. I usually disconnect the batteries before I go to bed.
Time to trap the racoon that is living in your garage
Just curious, why are you arming the alarm when parked in your garage? Most cars will allow you to lock the doors but not arm the alarmā¦
The funny thing is sometimes even when the car isnāt locked the car alarms go off. Like today when I opened the door to my my unlocked Santa Fe the damn alarm started going off. It was unlocked so I was just so confused why it was going off. I have also looked inside my garage for any rodents but nothing turned up. I donāt have much inside my garage so no clue.
Well, thatās an interesting additional clue. Sincerely wish you luck in getting to the bottom of it. Youāre not in Amityville are you?
Hereās an interesting thread on the 22 Santa Fe with similar complaint
At this point, all I can suggest is an exorcism of your home, performed by a clergy person of your choice.
this is a video of a Hyundai Veloster, but your vehicle may be having the same issue. just something to check.
How to fix Hyundai Veloster alarm going off randomly - YouTube
With 5 different vehicles and at least 3 different manufactures doing the same thing at totally random times night and day, odds are slim to none it is vehicle related issues, and very unlikely anything outside of the house (kids, loud stereos in cars, loud exhaust, construction close by (vibrations from blasting etc)) If it is not paranormal I would be worried that maybe something is going on in the electrical box or water heater or something out of wacke in the garageā¦ I would probably have a licensed electrician take a look at the electrical box just to be safeā¦ Iāve had electrical boxes hum and you could almost feel the harmonics and it is slightly possible that something like that is going on hereā¦ I donāt know for sure but I donāt think I would take a chance with what all is going on hereā¦ So far nothing else can explain itā¦
Harmonics are currents or voltages with frequencies that are integer multiples of the fundamental power frequency , which in the U.S. is 60 Hertz. If the first fundamental frequency is 60 Hz, then the second is 120 Hz, and the third is 180 Hz.
If? Of course itās not paranormal. Ghosts donāt exist. Thereās a rational explanation for whatās going on. I will say I am very anxious to find out whatās causing this issue on at least 3 separate cars!
Sorry, I did not read OPās post just the title. I guess I am being really lazy today.
but I did find this that could be a possible causeā¦
Your TV may use a radio signal thatās confusing your car. While most devices like TVās and cable boxes use infrared LED light to relay commands from remotes, some, like Dish Network satellite TV, can use radio signals. Your car may have a radio transmitter for keyless locking and unlocking, with the signal from the TV remote coincidentally matching the āPanicā command on the car fob remote.
Not really to much of a stretch, Back in my younger days when I had a CB radio and was running a 1000 watt amp with it in my car, I would set off car alarms all the time.
Wow, as I recall CBs were limited to 5 watts. Got a CB call in my CJ, I answered and asked āwhatās your 20?ā, answer āin the patrol car behind youā. They just wanted to say hello.
Does this alarm problem happen at the same time somebody is using an electrical gadget in your home? Many years ago my garage door opener would go up and down by itself, whenever somebody was using the sewing machine in the room above the garage. Could be some sort of E/M interference like that.
Really?? I think a few of us on here are having a little fun with the Ghost thingā¦
Of course there is a rational explanation for what is going on here, but gezz man if you are going to point one person out on something then you need to point ALL OF US OUT on that same thingā¦ There was at least 4 other members (5 including me) on this tread that mentioned the paranormalā¦
Wasnāt April Fools Day 5 days ago .
I donāt know but would my electrical box be the cause of the problem? It is right next to my car. Iāve noticed when I vacuum that sometimes it trips the electrical box. My home builders may have messed something up.
Vacuum cleaners use a lot of electrical power and current, often more than 10 amps. Many home circuits have 15 amp breakers, so it would be easy to trip one if even one thing, like a coffeee maker, were on the same circuit. the other home device that uses a lot of power is the microwave oven. A 15 amp breaker would usually trip if a vacuum cleaner and microwave were using the same circuit. I doubt the em interference would be coming from the breaker panel though.
It is possible, I do know that a normal household vacuum cleaner should not be kicking a breaker unless the circuit is overloaded for whatever reasonā¦ You could have something coming loose inside the Box and as I mentioned before, have a licensed electrician take a look at your Electrical Boxā¦
My neighbor had so many problems that I used to kid him that he must have built on an Indian burial grounds. My son worked at a psych ward before med school. One of the strange guys he worked with claimed he could see spirits. One night he asked who that woman with the blue dress was following him around? Described my dead mother and he was always her favorite. For what itās worth.
As an experiment, I would wrap the key fob in aluminum foil so there is no electronicommunication between vehicle and fob.
Does anything shock the garage floor enough to set off the alarm.
Sudden air pressure difference?
Can you log the times andiscover if they match anything happening - such a furnace turning on?
As a temporary fix, can the alarm speaker be disconnected? Or does the system detecthat?
Why not just park the cars outside one 24 hour period?
