key won’t come out when car is in park. you have to turn the key back over to the first click, put shifter in reverse then back to park then you can remove key or put car in park, back to reverse, back to park then you can turn key off and remove. Any help is greatly appreciated. Is it something that will leave me stranded if I don’t get it fixed right away and any idea how expensive this will be? It’s a 97 honda crv automatic
I had the same problem with my car–a 1978 Oldmobile Cutlass 4-4-2 with a floor shifter. The shifter has a rod that connects with the steering column lock. A simple adjustment took care of the problem. Your Honda may have the same type of set-up.
