Cabin A/C air filter replacement a necessity or a nice to have?

What’s the breakdown?

How many tenths to do the engine air filter?

How many tenths to do the cabin air filter?

And what’s the labor rate?

No. But no one goes to the dealer for a low price on a service. They go for OEM quality parts and factory trained mechanics. I would never pay that much for those things, but I’m perfectly capable of doing them myself. So I save the money. I think it’s out of line for an HVAC company to charge $220 to replace a furnace filter considering how simple it is, yet my 82 year old mother gladly pays that twice a year because she is unable to do it herself.

When I was still a business owner and had an attorney, he was charging $260/hr in 5-minute increments. I would get an itemized statement like: Called Al Brotman’s office, no answer. $21.66.

Do you think those prices are out of line considering how easy it is to dial a phone?

Yup. Some people are unable to crawl in front of the seat and replace the cabin filter.
