There is a car lot here in Indy that sells nothing but those types of cars. All of his are atleast 2500 dollars or higher depending on year. Also watching an episode of the US version of Top Gear, one of their guys bought one with over 400,000 miles on it and it still ran okay…
On the local TV news here a few weeks ago they did a story about the OK Highway Patrol running an auction to dispose of a number of cruisers, mostly Crown Vics. The going price at auction is generally around 2000-2500 dollars and they sell every one of them.
The motors and transmissions in these cars are near bullet-proof. A company in CA that specializes in mostly high performance rebuilds on the 4.6 engines states they see those motors coming in with 400-500k miles on them and the engine block still mikes within factory specs.
