Yup!
When the new site was first rolled out, it wasn’t anywhere near as “buggy” as it is currently.
Is the theory that this slowdown began around/at the time of the auto playing ad’s arrival?
I had an intermittent flash error that hung the page for me, but when it did load there didn’t seem to be a speed issue. thanks for the feedback, and I will pass on the fact that the users who had an issue late last week still seem to be having it.
Yes, the culprit seems to be the Black Box that is sucking up all the cyber space.
I just noticed CTRL-F now works like it’s supposed to. Thanks for fixing that.
EDIT: I take it back. It worked on another page, but not on this one!
How can I change my password if I can’t remember my old one?

@cdaquila see above, please.
@9toes, you should erase you ur email address. The entire universe can see it. This thread is not just viewed by the lackeys.
Hi there. See this screen - https://www.cartalk.com/user/login
You can click on the forgot password link. Please let me know if you have further trouble. PS: welcome back!
I am wondering why some POSTs disappear? I POSTed once about the reaction element for the 3,4,5 gears on a 6L80 transmission. I did get some flack then the post disappeared.
There was a post about a Mercedes 330 DSL running rough and smoking. I thought of a REPLY but by that time the POST had disappeared.
What are your criteria for taking down a POST. TNX Researcher
.
Hi Researcher. When did you make these posts? I don’t recall removing them. And usually if I remove a post you know because you’d get a notification of someone flagging it, or I would send you a private message informing you why. Or in rare cases I’d remove a post without saying anything because I’d made a number of unheeded warnings.
Is this the 6L80 transmission thread you are looking for?
Yes that is the one. You don’ need to resurrect it again as I have found the answer and have surmised the answer to the second part. It just seems like a lot of effort and complexity to save a few miles per gallon.

Visit Topic You found the POST I made. The second POST was made by someone else. It sounded like the discussion was getting serious and honing in on possibilitiesl

I don’t know where to post this, but suddenly, I have over 5000 new posts to read. I have not seen more than 5 in a long time. What ha happened?
The person who started this Bug Report has been gone for 8 years. Carolyn is not active here either. I doubt if any of the few Moderators will even see this thread.
Just pay attention to current discussions and ignore the old ones. You probably will not miss anything important. I have 2000 new myself and I ignore anything that has been in active for a month.
Huh, I just noticed I have 5000. I clicked on that, the newest one is Dec 2023. So I’ll ignore them.
Mine says 1641, but it’s a mix of my discussions and recent posts, I’ll just keep it to latest which shows what I need to see.
