I drive a 1991 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight. I have an occasional problem where I step on the brake and it feels like it is grinding or not catching right. Sort of like if the brakes were wet. The problem is that this happens without warning and then doesn’t happen the next time I step on the brake. I’ve brought it to Meineke twice, they insist there is nothing wrong with the brakes and could not duplicate the problem.
This has only happened at very low speed, but then I haven’t driven at high speed.
Is this different from the normal feel of ABS kicking in?
If it’s just a light grinding the first time you drive on a wet day, then it’s probably only surface rust on the rotors, which isn’t really a problem.
